All wildlife but deer appear to be doing well in county
RBC I Nearly all wildlife in Rio Blanco County is doing quite well following a wet spring, and some species are doing so well that they may be contributing to the decrease in number of area mule deer.

Fire season delayed by damp weather
RBC I Usually a delay means something is wrong, but good news arrived with the abundance of precipitation in May, meaning that the fire season in the White River Basin will likely be delayed from the earlier-predicted June start to at least July or August.

Memorial Day was quite enjoyable around Rio Blanco County with the towns nearly deserted but area activities — mostly outdoors — keeping a lot of people from leaving the area for the three-day weekend.

RBC I Colorado Parks and Wildlife is looking for volunteer camp hosts for the 2013 summer season. Being a camp host is a great way to spend the summer enjoying the outdoors and helping out at wildlife areas, hatcheries or campgrounds.
