County tax sale not always a deal

RBC I Yard sales, back to school sales, 50 percent off sales, after Christmas sales. We all think of bargains when we see these advertised. The county tax sale is a bit different—it’s “buyer beware.”

Yellow Jacket board members

MEEKER I The Rio Blanco County District Court appointed Mike Brennan, R. Reed Kelley, Benjamin Rogers, Gary Dunham and Walter N. Proctor to the the Yellow Jacket Water Conservancy Board of Directors Nov. 4 (effective Oct 21). The Yellow Jacket board also includes Ed Coryell, David Smith and Kelly Sheridan.

Veterans Day

Meeker’s V.F.W. Ladies’ Auxiliary POW/MIA ceremony will be held at noon on the courthouse lawn followed by lunch at Mountain Valley Bank community room. Alliance Energy in Rangely invites veterans to a barbecue at noon at the Elks Lodge.

Help for your home heating bills

RBC I Colorado’s Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), which provides financial assistance with home heating bills, will begin accepting applications Tuesday, Nov. 1 and will continue to do so until April 30, 2012.
