MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys drove 87 yards on their last drive to narrow the score down to 21-20.They went for the 2-point conversion and the win, but came up short. The long drive took nine minutes and 17 seconds off the fourth quarter clock.

Cowboys drop Lake County 21-6 on the road
MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys dropped the Lake County team in Leadville Friday night. The score was 21-6 at half time and the second half both defenses took over.

Everyone is invited to the Meeker Homecoming parade at 2 p.m. Friday, following a barbecue on the courthouse lawn to benefit the MHS athletic department starting at 11:30 a.m. Meeker will host the Paonia Eagles in volleyball and football Friday night.

MEEKER I The Black and Gold JV were defeated by the margin of a field goal, losing to Steamboat Springs 28-31.

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys fell to Del Norte on a warm Saturday afternoon. Fumbles again had strong effect on the outcome of the game.
Meeker JV outlasts Moffat County Bulldogs 28-20
MEEKER I Moffat County took the opening kick-off and drove to the Meeker 25 yard line before being stopped. On the Cowboys’ first play Jake Phelan ran 75 yards for a TD on an option play. The try for two points was good and Meeker led 8-0.
Cowboys lose to 2A Coal Ridge Titans
MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys dropped a road game last Friday night to the Coal Ridge Titans, 20-39. The Cowboys played well at times, on both sides of the ball, but fumbles and special team play sealed their fate.
MHS Cowboys taken down by Grand Valley Cardinals
MEEKER I The 2012 Meeker Cowboys took a hit Friday night, both by the score (6-49) and the injury bug. The visiting Grand Valley Cardinals allowed the ‘Boys an opening touchdown drive and then shut down the Meeker 11 from the end zone the rest of the night.
MHS Cowboy football team takes opener 27-0
MEEKER I The 2012 Cowboys opened the season with a 27-0 victory over the visiting Grand Junction J.V. team. The Black and Gold were led by a defense that played exceptionaly well, limiting the opponent to only 24 yards total offense and four first downs.
