Cowboys give state champs a good game, but lose 38-30

MEEKER I Down 24 points to the defending state champion Cedaredge Bruins at one point in the first half of their homecoming game, the Meeker High School Cowboys pulled within one (at 31-30) late in the fourth quarter. However, the home team would not be victorious.

MHS Cowboys suffer first loss of the season

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboy football team suffered its first loss (22-28) of the season in Paonia last Friday but according to their coach, they have to “put Paonia behind them” because the Cowboys are celebrating homecoming this week and hosting the defending state champion Cedaredge Bruins in Starbuck Stadium.

Cowboys shut out Del Norte early

RANGELY I The Meeker Cowboys football team made quick work of Del Norte in Olathe on Saturday, beating the Tigers 42-0, keeping them undefeated in their first four games.

MHS Cowboys win third in a row

MEEKER I Just like the Denver Broncos, lightning delayed the first home game for the Meeker Cowboys. However, instead of a delay at the start, lightning delayed the second half for Meeker, although both teams went on to win.

Meeker drops final game to Hotchkiss, 34-12

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys dropped their final conference game to Hotchkiss, 34-12. The Black and Gold played the Bulldogs fairly even except for two long runs by the ace Hotchkiss running back, who bolted for 60 and 93 touchdown runs during the contest.
