MHS volleyball No. 2 seed for district tournament

MEEKER I The Meeker volleyball team finished its regular season with two more wins, securing them the No. 2 seed for the district tournament and setting up a match up against Rangely again on Tuesday night, in the first round of the district tournament.

RBC middle school teams win league volleyball titles

Barone Middle School’s seventh-grade A-team won the league championship in Rangely after defeating Steamboat Springs in the first round and Rangely in the championship match. Cowboys give state champs a good game, but lose 38-30

MEEKER I Down 24 points to the defending state champion Cedaredge Bruins at one point in the first half of their homecoming game, the Meeker High School Cowboys pulled within one (at 31-30) late in the fourth quarter. However, the home team would not be victorious.

Meeker to finish regular v-ball season on the road

MEEKER I The Meeker High School volleyball team showed great teamwork and perseverance coming back from an emotional loss to Paonia for homecoming on Friday night to beat a scrappy South Routt County (Soroco) team on Saturday.

Six kids from Meeker participated in the Regional Punt, Pass and Kick competition in Grand Junction on Sunday including Tanner Ridgeway, Hayden Shults, Bella Gianinetti, Connor Blunt, Marin Shults and Ellie Haussig.

New tradition…

In a new ceremony during halftime of Friday night’s homecoming football came against Cedaredge, the new “Flaming M” was set afire after being wrapped with donated sheets from Tuesday’s Toga Day activities at Meeker High School.

MHS Cowboys suffer first loss of the season

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboy football team suffered its first loss (22-28) of the season in Paonia last Friday but according to their coach, they have to “put Paonia behind them” because the Cowboys are celebrating homecoming this week and hosting the defending state champion Cedaredge Bruins in Starbuck Stadium.
