Meeker runners head to regionals
MEEKER — Three Meeker High School cross country runners will compete in the state-qualifying regional meet this coming Saturday in Delta. The trio of runners, led by seniors Terrance Casias and Keenan Walter, along with freshman Tracey Roybal, ran in Rifle last Thursday.

MEEKER — The Barone Middle School eighth-grade volleyball team won the end-of-season tournament last Saturday in Craig.

RBC — The Rio Blanco county championship is annually one of the best games of the year for both Meeker and Rangely. This year the Meeker Cowboys scored seven touchdowns and two two-point conversions while holding the host Panthers to just seven points to win the game 46-7.

Mustangs defeated by Silt, Rifle
MEEKER — The young Mustangs took on the Silt Panthers at home Sunday afternoon. Meeker lost possession of the ball on the first play of the game, but its extreme defense held Silt for the first quarter.
MHS golf season ends

MEEKER — “The first half was like a track meet,” Meeker’s head football coach Shane Phelan said of the league game last Friday in Kremmling against the West Grand Mustangs. “There were touchdowns flying up and down the field on both sides.”
