Lady Panthers win two more

RANGELY — The lady Panthers hosted a makeup game against DeBeque Feb 5. Things went well for the home team from the start, as Rangely jumped up to a 14-4 after the first quarter. Things continued on for the lady Panthers and by half time the score was 25-6, Rangely.

Rangely boys rout West Grand

RANGELY — Waiting one extra day because of a snow delay, a long bus ride and traveling on snow-packed roads didn’t slow down the Rangely Panthers as they routed the West Grand Mustangs 64-44.

Cowboys grounded by Eagles 37-70

MEEKER — The Paonia Eagles easily handled the MHS Cowboys last Friday night in Paonia 37-70. The loss makes this week’s game with cross-county rival Rangely pivotal for both teams as the winner will receive the number three seeding for the upcoming district tournament.

BMS A-teams beat Sailors

MEEKER — The Barone Middle School girls basketball teams hosted the Steamboat Springs Sailors last Saturday and won three of four games.

Meeker loses league game in Paonia

MEEEKR — It wasn’t a good week to be unable to make baskets but according to Meeker’s head girls basketball coach Hallie Blunt, that’s what happened in games against Grand Valley and South Routt County (Soroco) last week. “We couldn’t make a basket,” Blunt said.
