MEEKER — The weather finally allowed hosting schools to put on a track meet last Saturday and the Meeker track teams traveled to Rangely to take part in the Panther Invitational.

Panthers host 13 teams at invitational track meet
RANGELY — Rangely played host to a 13-team invitational track and field meet during the past weekend. All but four of the teams were from the 4A-5A classifications, which made the competition fierce.
RBC wrestlers hit mats in Denver

Lonquist, Pellowski take singles’ titles at tournament
RANGELY — Twenty-seven players participated in the 17th annual Rangely racquetball tournament this past weekend at the Rangely rec center. Although the tournament had the lowest turnout in all of its years, no one complained.
Eagles crush Panthers 81-34
RANGELY — The district semifinal game between Rangely and the Paonia Eagles started well for the Panthers but ended in a crushing 34-81 defeat to end the season for the Panthers.
Cowboys lose in semis to defending state champions
MEEKER — The challenge was huge for the Meeker boys’ basketball team: play the defending state champions in the semifinals game of the district tournament, a must win for the Cowboys.

RANGELY — The Rangley Middle School wrestling team started the season with a strong showing at Craig Middle School last Saturday. The Panthers took second place out of nine teams and as a dual meet/team tournament, there were no individual placements.
