RANGELY I The Rangely wrestling team traveled to Vernal, Utah to compete in a very tough Tournament of Champions last weekend.
High school teams start 2012 play Friday
RBC I Both Rio Blanco County high school wrestling teams will travel across the state line to open the 2012 season at the Tournament of Champions in Vernal, Utah, and three of the local basketball teams will host at least one home game this weekend.
RHS wrestles in Classic
RANGELY I The Panther wrestling team traveled to Duchesne, Utah, last week and competed in a dual against the Eagles. Due to forfeits the dual was a good test of individual performance.
Brown remains undefeated
RANGELY I Senior Rangely High School wrestler Patrick Brown remains undefeated for the season at 9-0 and was voted the outstanding wrestler last Friday at the Roosevelt, Utah, duals.
Panther wrestlers compete
RANGELY I The Rangely High School wrestling team traveled to Grand Junction to compete in the Colorado Mesa University duals and returned with one undefeated wrestler.
Panther Invite a success
Rangely High School was the site for the Panther Invitational wrestling tournament held last Saturday. Wrestlers from Rangely, Meeker, Rifle, New Castle, Parachute, Hotchkiss, Loma, Moffat County, Hayden, Vernal and Roosevelt attended the event.
Barlow wins regional title
RANGELY I Panther senior Cole Barlow moved up a spot from last year’s second place finish in the regional wrestling tournament, winning the 152-pound bracket last Saturday in Palisade.
Rangely wrestlers ready for regional tournament
RANGELY I A dual meet between the Panther wrestling team and 3A Grand Valley was cancelled last week but according to head coach Derek Stolworthy, the team has spent the time training in preparation of the state-qualifying regional tournament this weekend at Palisade High School.

RANGELY I “Our wrestlers arrived in Paonia ready to battle,” Panther wrestling coach Derek Stolworthy said. The Panthers may have lost some battles but know they are still in the war.
Barlow wins Panther tourney
Named outstanding wrestler RBC I Rangely senior Cole Barlow won the 152-pound bracket of the Panther wrestling tournament last Saturday in his hometown and was voted the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament by attending coaches. Meeker junior Justin Hardy won the 171-pound class.

RANGELY I With the pre-holiday part of the schedule completed, first-year wrestling coach Derek Stolworthy is pleased with his team’s progress and says his young team is “exceeding expectations.”
