At the Fruita meet, the girls raced first again, with Steele placing 25th at 28:52, followed by Amick at 35:47 for 29th. In the boys’ race, Bradley Conrado put in a strong effort, finishing 8th with a personal record of 19:06. Wyatt Rollins was the team’s second finisher and placed 9th overall at 19:12. Ryan Hanberg also set a personal record, finishing 19th at 20:03. Cameron Hanberg came in 24th at 20:36. Ashton Tapia and Haydyn Massey finished in 21:32 and 21:51, taking 29th and 33rd places, respectively. Aidan Tapia was 40th at 22:42, and Lucas Robinson placed 46th at 31:09. The Cowboys took fourth as a team.

“We saw some great racing this week,” coach Marty Casey said. “There was a large field of runners and impressive competition in Rifle, and a smaller field with a more rugged course in Fruita. It was an excellent effort at both meets, and our underclassmen are stepping up.”
