Special to the HT
MEEKER | The 2025 Colorado State Archery Association season belonged to the Hummel brothers, as Sawyer and Hudson broke/set state records in the Cub Male Bowhunter class.
The Hummels showcased incredible versatility across different disciplines, leaving a trail of new milestones in their wake:
Sawyer Hummel dominated the indoor season, setting two state records: a 597 with 82x in the Indoor 5 Spot and an 869 with 35x on the Vegas Target.
Hudson Hummel took charge outdoors, shattering the state record with a 1462 and 67x, while also setting a new Field Target high of 1068 and 51x.
Despite their dominance, the season wasn’t without its challenges. The Lee and Elk Fires prevented the brothers from attending the 3D shoot, leaving their final rankings to be decided by the four other tournaments.
When the final tallies were calculated, the brothers were in a dead heat. While Hudson technically led by a single “x,” the CSAA made the executive decision to honor both boys for their extraordinary performances. Recognizing their immense talent and the circumstances beyond their control, the association awarded 1st place buckles to both Hudson and Sawyer.
With four new state records between them, the Hummel brothers have firmly established themselves in the future of Colorado archery.

Twin brothers Sawyer and Hudson Hummel broke and set state records in archery at the 2025 Colorado State Archery Season.
