Meeker youth baseball has 1-0-1 record

MEEKER I Behind the pitching of Hunter Garcia, 10, and Doak Mantle, 9, Meeker 1 has a one-win and one-tie record. Silt 1 and Meeker 1 matched up well.
The lone 10-year-old on the Meeker team, Garcia, was the starting pitcher. He picked up where he left off last season, striking out the side. The Meeker batters showed great patience. Mantle took the mound and silenced the opposing team’s bats, following a walk with three strikeouts on nine pitches.
As the bottom of the third started, Meeker went on a tear as Harvey doubled and Eli Neuman tripled. The patience showed as Meeker walked in the next five runs to tie the game 6-6.
Due to a time limit, one more inning was played. Meeker loaded the bases but was not able to push a run across.
