MEEKER I Meeker High School cross country competed in the Basalt Invitational last Saturday, Aug. 28, with Brighton Bair the only runner in the girls race. She ran well, finishing 16th out of 84 runners, in a time of 22:29.
The boys race had 92 finishers, and Gabe Richardson, with a time of 20:55 and 34th place, was Meeker’s first to the finish line. Gabe Smithers ran a great race for a new personal record of 21:37 and 41st place. Eddie Drussell and Gage Richardson ran together for much of the race, and finished the same way, 54th and 55th, 22:30 and 22:31 respectively. In 64th place, at 23:25, Wyatt Rollins also earned a new PR. Owen Hannemann was Meeker’s sixth finisher this week, in 23:52 and 67th place. The boys scored ninth as a team.
