CNCC campus in Craig now a federal fossil repository

RANGELY I On Feb. 3, Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) President Russell George and paleontologist Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson, together with Ruth Welch, the Colorado state director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), signed an agreement to officially make the CNCC Craig Campus a federal fossil repository.

RSD inks fund request

RANGELY I The Rangely School Board adopted a new resolution Jan. 20 that urges the Colorado State Legislature to reduce the negative factor, effectively increasing school funding.

RHS girls beat Hotchkiss, fall to Cedaredge

RANGELY I The Rangely High School girls’ basketball team picked up a win on Saturday, beating Hotchkiss, 38-24. Coach Quinton Kent said, “We knew coming into this game that we needed to win to keep our playoff hopes alive, and I was pleased with the way our girls responded.”

MHS boys’ undefeated streak ends with loss in Paonia

MEEKER I Thoughts of an undefeated basketball season by the Meeker High School boys’ basketball team ended Saturday with a defeat by the Paonia Eagles, making for a split over the weekend as the boys had defeated Hayden by a wide margin.
