“Doing without” and “making do” are two traditional cost saving measures that one hears little about these days. The two time-honored traditions began in the earliest days of the area’s settlement and continued well through World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II.

BMS boys finish on high note
MEEKER I Meeker’s Barone Middle School traveled to Rangely to compete in the league tournament along with Rangely, Craig and Steamboat Springs. The seventh-grade team won the tournament and finished the season undefeated. The eighth-grade team finished third.

Letter: South Fork bridge makes no sense
The plans for a new bridge over the South Fork four miles below where the road ends at the South Fork Campground are being finalized in preparation for construction next summer. Since Federal money is paying for part of the cost, Federal standards must be followed.
