PMC says thanks to fire and rescue squad

Pioneers Medical Center would like to thank the volunteers of the Meeker Fire and Rescue District for their quick response, which was both effective and reassuring, when lightning struck a tree at the PMC Home Health house on June 19.

Community barbecue Aug. 5 in City Park

MEEKER I The Colorado Environmental Coalition and the Wilderness Society will host a free community barbecue from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5 at the City Park pavilion, said Sasha Nelson, the group’s northwest region organizer.

Cojocaru completes basic training in Mo.

MEEKER I Pvt. Nick Cojocaru was graduated from BCT (Basic Combat Training) in Fort Leonardwood, Mo., and will remain there for his AIT (Advanced Individual Training). His wife, Tara, children Isaac and Brooke, and niece Cherokee Burnell, were able to attend his graduation.
