September incidents up 4.37 percent over 2007
RBC — The number of incidents received by the Rio Blanco County Communications Center rose from 937 in September 2007 to 978 in September 2008, an increase of 4.37 percent.

Senator-elect White to continue on panel
RBC — Bringing eight years of experience from the House of Representatives, including two years as the House Republicans’ only member on the powerful Joint Budget Committee, Senator-elect Al White of Hayden was appointed by Senate GOP chief Josh Penry to continue to serve on the key budget-writing panel.
Winter programs begin Dec. 9
MEEKER — Meeker winter music programs are Tuesday, Dec. 9 for the Meeker Elementary first, second and third grades. Dress rehearsal is 1:30 p.m., and the evening performance 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Dec. 10, the fourth, fifth and sixth grade choirs perform at 7 p.m.

County canvass confirms election results
RBC — County election officials canvassed votes and completed the post-election audit Nov. 13. Both went well, said County Clerk Nancy Amick. There was only one small glitch.

RBC — With its lawsuit with ExxonMobil pending, budgeting has been a challenge for Rio Blanco County. However, the 2009 budget will be considered for adoption at a public hearing at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Administration Building.
