ARRESTS
12/29/2025- Meeker PD arrested a 43 year-old male on possession of a schedule III, IV, or V controlled substance and reckless endangerment. He was taken to jail and was released on a cash bond.
1/3/2026- Meeker PD arrested a 31 year-old female for disorderly conduct and 3rd degree assault. She was taken to jail and released after charges were dismissed.
1/3/2026- Meeker PD arrested a 46 year-old male on possession of a schedule III,IV, or V controlled substance, drove vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs/or both. He was transported to jail and released on bond.
CALL SUMMARIES
12/28/2025 @ 8:48 am. An attempted burglary at a local restaurant was reported. The perpetrator was unable to gain access inside however did cause damage. Meeker Police Dept. is investigating the crime.
12/28/2025 @ 1:51 pm. A caller reported a black mountain lion within the Meeker town limits: after reviewing the photo provided by the caller to dispatch, it was determined the animal was not a mountain lion.
12/28/2025 @ 4:43 pm. Deputies encountered a vehicle stopped in the middle of Highway 64. The vehicle had struck a deer. While no injuries were reported, the deputies had to put the deer down due to the extent of its injuries.
12/29/2025 @ 7:02 pm. A customer left a small bag containing an unknown white substance at a cash register. Officers retrieved the bag, and the Meeker PD K-9 provided a positive alert on the substance. The owner of the bag later returned to the location looking for his belongings and was subsequently arrested.
1/3/2026 @ 3:23 pm. Officers responded to an argument between two females that escalated into a physical altercation regarding a male individual. One female was arrested.
1/3/2026 @ 9:44 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Meeker PD with a routine traffic stop involving a vehicle operating without headlights. The incident resulted in an arrest for possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or both.
On the evening of Dec. 29 Shield 616 presented Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office with new bullet proof vests. These were donated to the agency in response to the wildfires this past August. In addition to the equipment donation, Shield 616 provided dinner and hosted a family game night for our deputies and their families.
