CALL SUMMARIES

7/16/2025 @ 01:02 pm., Meeker PD and Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to a car vs bike accident that involved injuries. The child riding the bicycle sustained serious injuries and was ultimately airlifted to another hospital.

7/13/2025 @ 3:24 pm., A domestic was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that occurred at North Fork Campground. The victim came to the Sheriff’s Office to make the report. Ultimately a warrant was issued for the female suspect and she was subsequently arrested in Garfield County.

7/14/2025 @ 5:10 pm., While a driving pattern that was questionable on Highway 13 was reported to the Sheriff’s Office, it was really a strategic game of “avoid front-end damage.” A deputy contacted the driver that was the subject of a traffic complaint. The driver explained to the deputy that he was just trying to avoid potholes.

7/19/2025 @ 12:13 am. On routine patrol, a deputy came across a 4-wheeler parked along side Highway 64 at mile-marker 40. After stopping to assess the situation, he discovered a male party laying on the ground next to it who was very intoxicated and was planning to sleep it off. The party was released to his father. The male was not taken into custody due to the fact he was not driving at the time of law enforcement contact.

7/19/2025 @ 5:40 am. A Meeker resident called in with an unusual landscaping concern: a vehicle had decided their front yard was the perfect parking spot. Before anyone could roll out the welcome mat, the driver took off—apparently realizing driveways are optional. An officer soon spotted the vehicle cruising down 12th Street like nothing had happened. The Meeker PD officer made the stop and quickly determined the driver wasn’t just lost—they were liquidly navigationally challenged. The driver was taken into custody for DUI. Lesson of the day: Your yard is not public parking, and drunk driving is still a no-no—even if you’re trying to “be one with nature.”
