ARRESTS
A 25 year-old male was arrested by Meeker PD 7/10/2024 for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance-Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Praphernalia and Reckless Endangerment. He was released on a PR bond on 7/11/2024
A 37 year-old male was arrested 7/11/2024 on a felony warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office. He was released on a PR bond on 7/12/2024
A 40 year-old male was arrested on a warrant for Violation of a Protection Order by Rangely Police Dept. on 7/12/2024. He was released on a PR bond on 7/14/2024
CALL SUMMARIES
7/7/2024 @ 12:24 am. A stolen vehicle was reported from an address in the Town of Meeker. Approximately 7 hours after the stolen vehicle report, the owner of the vehicle called the Communications Center to advise that his vehicle was taken by mistake and had been returned.
7/7/2024 @ 3:25 pm. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept was paged out for a female that fell in the river near Circle Park. She had been swimming in the river and got caught in the current. At the time of the call she was out of the river and eventually was transported to the hospital.
7/9/2024 @ 11:19 am. A hiker on China Wall just outside Meeker Town Limits called dispatch to inform them about a helicopter that was flying low and seemed suspicious. The hiker felt this was done on purpose and that law enforcement was the culprit. The hiker also noticed some bones on the trail that had been “placed” during his hike.
7/10/2024 @ 10:04 pm. A local gas station in Meeker called the police because an employee believed a customer was using drugs in the restroom. Upon the officer’s arrival there were indeed drugs being used. The officer and one employee were exposed and had to be taken to the hospital. The male party was arrested by Meeker PD.
7/12/2024 @ 3:01 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with the arrest of a male party that had a warrant.
7/13/2024 @ 4:56 pm. A traffic complaint came into the Communications Center regarding a tow truck that was swerving near the 19 mile-marker on Highway 13. A deputy contacted the vehicle and the driver admitted to being tired and the truck he was driving was new to him. The deputy followed the driver back into Meeker to ensure his safety.
