ARRESTS
9/24/2026- Meeker PD arrested a 44-year old male on Domestic Violence, Criminal Mischief, Reckless Driving and Failing to Remain/Return to an Accident Scene. He was released on a PR bond.
9/25/2026- Meeker PD arrested a 40-year old male on warrants. He remains in custody.

This week’s calls range from concerned spouses to low-flying aircraft.
9/23/2026 @ 6:56 am. A concerned hunter’s wife contacted Communications after not hearing from her husband since the previous morning. She did not want a full search launched quite yet, but thankfully, a few hours later, the wife called back with the best possible update: all was well.
9/23/2026 @ 9:08 am. The FAA was notified of a low-flying airplane on the east side of the county. A deputy did check into the complaint, but unfortunately, the Sheriff’s Office has yet to issue aircraft radios to the patrol trucks.
9/24/2026 @ 5:12 pm. A hit and run accident ended with an arrest. The victim was able to identify the suspect and he was taken into custody on multiple charges.
9/26/2026 @ 3:18 pm. Concern over a possible DUI brought deputies to check on a driver who appeared to be struggling behind the wheel. The culprit turned out to be fatigue rather than drugs or alcohol. The driver was released on a warning.
9/26/2026 @ 9:39 pm. A report of a dead elk along Highway 13 sounded like it might be creating a traffic hazard. Upon arrival, a deputy discovered the elk was actually well off the highway and causing absolutely no trouble for passing motorists. Traffic continued safely and the elk was able to rest in peace.
