Rankin proposes money-saving plan

RBC I Bob Rankin, candidate for Colorado House District 57, announced a campaign policy initiative to save Colorado voters money while holding the federal government more accountable for their actions.

Voting information for the November elections

RBC I The last day to register to vote in this year’s general election Nov. 6 is coming up soon. You must register by Monday, Oct. 9. You may register at the County Clerk’s office in Meeker or in Rangely at the Western Annex, or online at www.govotecolorado.com.

Democratic party meeting July 23

MEEKER I The Rio Blanco County Democratic Party will host a house meeting with District Coordinator Katie Savage on Wednesday, July 23 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Kilowatt Korner in the WREA building at Sixth and Market St.

Eskelson, Hill win commissioner seats

RBC I Rio Blanco County elected two new county commissioners in the 2012 Republican primary election. Jeff Eskelson defeated incumbent Kai Turner and Jon D. Hill defeated Chris Brasfield to fill the seat vacated by Ken Parsons. The two new commissioners will be seated in January 2013.

Candidate forum tonight

Candidates for the Board of County Commissioners held a forum in Meeker Wednesday and will be at Rangely Town Hall tonight at 6:30 p.m. to answer questions from voters. Mail-in ballots for the Republican primary election are due back Tuesday, June 26.
