EHV-1 outbreak confirmed in Colorado
RBC | No outside horses are allowed at Columbine Park in Rangely or the fairgrounds in Meeker because of an outbreak of Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1) in the state, which continues to be investigated by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

MEEKER I The Meeker 4-H Council was held Feb. 1 at the Extension Office. President Taylor Neilson called the meeting to order. Stephen Walsh led the pledges. Attendees introduced themselves and described their projects.

Trey Morris wins showdown at state fair
MEEKER I There were greater rewards this year for hog exhibitors at the Colorado State Fair. The Showmaster Showdown, a competition that awarded the top youth hog exhibitor with a $1,000 college savings bond, 100 pounds of Showmaster feed and an embroidered camp chair.
