RBC to update wildfire protection plan

RBC I Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) are authorized and defined by the Health Forests Restoration Act (HFRA) passed by Congress in 2003. A CWPP is a community plan that brings together diverse local interests to discuss their mutual concerns for public safety, community sustainability and natural resources.

Smoke in northwest Colorado is from fires in Wyoming, Utah

RBC | Numerous smoke reports called into the Craig Interagency Fire Dispatch Center this afternoon were the result of fires in Utah and Wyoming. Smoke was carried from these incidents across northwest Colorado causing hazy air conditions and raising concerns from the public.

Rough Fire near Rangely at about 250 acres

RANGELY – The 250 acre Rough Fire was reported Friday afternoon following thunder and lightning storms. It is burning on Bureau of Land Management public lands, 20 miles northeast of Rangely, in pinyon and juniper trees, sagebrush and grass.
