This being my first letter to the editor, I wish I were writing a thank-you for the flowers or praise to our great community.

It sure would be nice to have a more balanced paper between Rangely and Meeker. The paper is almost always top heavy with Meeker on top.

Just a note to say thank you to Jerry LeBleu Jr., Jeff LeBleu and Brenda Ahrens for all they have helped with our park, together with their father, over the last couple of years.

Wow, who would of ever thought six months ago we (Faye Peterson, Kalene Weinholdt, Annie Gantt, Rhonda Cochran, Laurel Mullins and Jerrie Calkins) would be training for the 5K walk on the Fourth of July?

With a substantial amount of finger-pointing going on in Colorado and Washington, D.C., politics, I think it’s important we also point to those who have truly represented the interests of their district and made good decisions, even when it wasn’t the popular thing to do.

Meeker Drug and Rangely Rx greatly appreciate the understanding and compassion shown by our customers during this tragic situation regarding the fire sustained by our Meeker store on May 23.

The shooting of the abortionist doctor George Tiller has a lot of irony. The man who shot him is charged with murder, and rightfully so, he killed a man.
