MEEKER I For those hungry folks in the Meeker area on Saturday morning, the Meeker Lions Club will be serving a free breakfast from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Freeman E. Fairfield Center at 200 E. Main in downtown Meeker.

Open house Tuesday for Meeker VFW, Legion and Lions

MEEKER I On Tuesday, there will be an open house in Meeker to show off the new home of the Meeker Lions Club, Meeker VFW and Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 5843 and American Legion Post No. 74.

Meeker VFW, Lions Club to share new home

MEEKER I Meeker VFW Post No. 5843, enabled through several generous donations, has purchased the former First Federal Savings and Loan bank building at 290 Fourth St. in Meeker. The building will be the new home of the VFW post and the Meeker Lions Club.

Ken Coffin named 2014 ‘Lion of the Year’

MEEKER I The Meeker Lions Club presented awards at its annual Christmas party in early December. Mark Rogers and Bill Jordan received awards for their outstanding service to the club and Ken Coffin was recognized as “Lion of the Year” for 2014.

Meeker Night Out…

The Meeker Police Department drew roughly 150 people to Paintbrush Park on Aug. 5 for Meeker Night Out, which included a barbecue and a movie in honor of National Night Out, designed to bring families together for an evening and to cut down on crime activities for the night.
