­ Four Rio Blanco County basketball players played in the prestigious USA Junior Nationals All-State High School Basketball Competition last weekend in Denver.

MEEKER I Usually when you beat a good team in any sport it gets tougher to beat them again the second time you play. The Meeker Cowboy boys’ basketball team found this to be true as they traveled to Paonia for a rematch with the Paonia Eagles.

MEEKER I Meeker’s Lady Cowboys are gearing up for a repeat defeat of the league’s No. 1 ranked Paonia Eagles. This group has persevered this season with some great teamwork for a 7-2 record. Saturday’s match against the Plateau Valley Cowboys proved their capabilities.
