RBC I Winter sports for Rio Blanco County high schools will begin the 2015 portion of their winter sports schedules tonight with wrestling and home court basketball action in Meeker and Rangely on Friday.

RBC I Meeker’s Kaysyn Chintala and Rangely’s Quincey Thacker represented their schools last Sunday in the Colorado Coaches of Girls’ Sports all-state basketball game last Sunday. Meeker High School seniors playing on the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams ended the regular season with wins against Rio Blanco County rival Rangely last Friday and both teams won pigtail games Tuesday to advance to the district tournament starting this Friday in Paonia.
Strike up the band…
The Meeker High School band played during the home game last Friday, adding to Meeker’s home court advantage. The varsity basketball teams will play at home again this Saturday starting at 2:30.
MHS Cowboys earn 2nd place at WREA Shootout
MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys basketball team gained a berth in the championship game of the annual White River Electric “Cowboy Shootout” Saturday afternoon, but ended on the short side of the stick as they fell to Moffat County 50-46.
