Cowboys nipped by Paonia at homecoming 21-20
MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys drove 87 yards on their last drive to narrow the score down to 21-20.They went for the 2-point conversion and the win, but came up short. The long drive took nine minutes and 17 seconds off the fourth quarter clock.

Meeker High School juniors Dylan Mobley and Mariah Jensen were crowned king and queen for the 2012 homecoming. Seniors Anne George and Scott Smith were first attendants and Jeremy Musgrave and Linda Olivas were second attendants.

Everyone is invited to the Meeker Homecoming parade at 2 p.m. Friday, following a barbecue on the courthouse lawn to benefit the MHS athletic department starting at 11:30 a.m. Meeker will host the Paonia Eagles in volleyball and football Friday night.
Cowboys fumble homecoming game vs. Lake County
RBC I Meeker found a new way to put the ball on the ground Friday night and lost their homecoming game 6-24. In a game that was close up until the middle of the fourth quarter, the Black and Gold again came up short.
