Letter: The beauty of being raised in a small town

Dear Editor: Recently, we experienced the beauty of being raised in a small town. The genuineness and kindness of the people of Meeker flows way beyond the lines of Rio Blanco County. Our ties to Meeker seem to enrich our lives again and again, no matter where we end up.

Up and down el Rio Blanco: Great kids

We raise some great kids around here. Last week I wrote about the favorite part of my job as being able to watch kids grow up. I got to witness some of them growing up last week and I look forward to watching more this week.

More than 20 years ago in Steamboat Springs, Father Tom Dentici gave my all-time favorite sermon. I don’t remember it verbatim but the bottom line was: “The ultimate prayer, is a prayer of thanks,” Father Tom said.

Letter: Crab Crack a huge success

The 2011 Rangely Area Chamber of Commerce Crab Crack was a huge success! This is because of the following volunteers and organizations as well as all of the people who purchased tickets and attended this very fun and worthwhile event.

Letter: Overdue thank you

This note of thanks is long overdue. I am so fortunate to live in Meeker where the city keeps the snow removed at once and the big litter clean-up after the 4th of July celebration. Thank you city workers and city administration for everything you do. Doris Walters Meeker
