Up and down el Rio Blanco: It’s going to be a white Christmas
Are you ready for Christmas? Thank God for my wife. I always look at her before I answer that question and so far she hasn’t given me the OK, so we are still not ready for Christmas but we still have two days, if I include today.
Letter: Make sure access to mailbox is clear
Winter storms and cold, snow and ice are here, making it more challenging for letter carriers to deliver your mail. We’re in your neighborhood six days a week in every kind of weather. When snow stacks up, it’s an extra challenge. We’re up to it but we could use your[Read More…]
Up and down el Rio Blanco: We all make mistakes …
A few years ago, I don’t remember how many or what time of day or night it was, but I was surfing channels when I came across a man speaking. I don’t remember his name, who he was associated with, what or if he was selling something. I like using[Read More…]

Letter: Building community
Happy Holidays! How to build community: Turn off your TV. Leave your house. Know your neighbors. Greet people. Look up when you’re walking. Sit on your stoop. Plant flowers. Use your library. Play together. Buy from local merchants. Share what you have. Help a lost dog. Take children to the[Read More…]

To the Meeker community, Nicholas and I would like to take a moment to give our thanks to everyone who made such a difference for our family over this past year. It was because of the community that our family was able to focus on our father’s care and not[Read More…]
Letter: Lots going on at White River Museum
The Rio Blanco County Historical Society is always looking for new members and volunteers. Maybe you enjoy visiting the museum; it’s probably pretty likely you take or send your guests there. The museum, with its wonderful collection, is open every day, and it’s free!
