Two wildfires burning in area

MEEKER I This past weekend’s lightning burst resulted in 34 wildfires in Northwest Colorado, but only two of those blazes are uncontained as of late Tuesday and wildland fire crews and engines are working towards wrapping them up.

Smoke is from Canadian fires

RBC I It has been tough to miss the haze in the air the past 10 days around Northwest Colorado, but the good news, a government officials has reported, the smoke is not from fires in Northwest Colorado, Southern Wyoming or Eastern Utah, but likely Canada.

Complete fire ban in county

RBC I Effective as of Monday morning, Rio Blanco County and the Town of Meeker had instituted Stage One Fire Restrictions for the entire county.
