MEEKER | It’s been a tough season so far for Cowboy softball. They have played eight games in the last week and come away with one win. A lot of time was spent on the road the last seven days at Cedaredge, Cortez and Gunnison. The doubleheader against Gunnison was by far the toughest fight this season. They lost the first game 19-16 but their bats came alive in the second match and they won by seven, final score 16-9.
Tuesday, the first home doubleheader, they matched up against a strong opponent in Basalt and fell in both games, 14-2 and 13-3. They will have one more game on the road at Rifle on Thursday before they take on the Limon Badgers in a double feature at home on Saturday. The games will begin at 9 a.m. with the second one immediately following. It is Limon Badgers versus the Meeker Cowboys weekend. Come watch the girls play.
