4-H program gains leaders

Rangely 4-H is excited to have five new 4-H Shooting Sports leaders who are focused on the .22 rifle, archery and shotgun disciplines.
Thank you Danny and Tami Dorris, Brandy Shelton and James Odom who attended a three-day Colorado 4-H Shooting Sports training in Garfield County last month. Clete Long is our new shotgun leader. We appreciate your selflessness and support of this very important 4-H program.
The focus of all 4-H programs is the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. It is important to learn by doing. The 4-H Shooting Sports program stands out as an example. Youth learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery and much more.
The activities of the program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth and conservation ethics. The Rangely 4-H Archery Club has met for the past month and meets every Tuesday evening. Rifle and shotgun will start meeting soon.
It’s not too late to sign up for
4-H. If you are interested in being a part of this exciting 4-H program please contact me, Roxie, at the CSU Extension Office in Rangely at 878-9495 or Bill in the Meeker office at 878-9490.
