RANGELY — Rangely Arts Council and the Rangely Public Library are pleased to present Marta Iris Call as the “Artist of the Month” for February.
Marta was born in Washington, D.C., and was raised in Bladensburg, Md. She is a graduate of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where she received a bachelor of arts in early childhood education and a minor in art.
Marta has had little formal training in art, other than the classes that are required to teach art for elementary school students. She has always called herself a copy machine type of artist, if “I can see it, I can copy it.” She’s an amateur photographer, enjoys painting with acrylics and mixed media canvases.
Marta has lived in 10 different states and visited about 25 states, settling in Utah about 22 years ago and moving to Dinosaur two years ago.
She joined the Rangely Arts Council in 2007 as a vehicle for art sharing and expansion of exposure to all art forms in Rio Blanco County.
Come to the library in February to see her artwork. The Rangely Public Library is located at 109 E. Main St., Rangely or call
