Letters To The Editor
Letter: Rangely earthquake
This past week there was a significant 5.3 earthquake in the Denver area. Mention was made of the granddaddy of all earthquakes in Colorado on the 6.6 one of Nov. 7, 1881. This earthquake is most significant in Rangely history.
Letter: Thankful parent
Words fall short when I try to describe what has gone into moving the Meeker Elementary School classrooms. I am just so amazed at how the Meeker School District staff has rallied, worked together and remained positive during this time.
Letter: More helicopters
On Aug. 6, 2011, the U.S. lost 30 special forces troops, including 22 Navy SEALS, in a helicopter shot down over Afghanistan. These people were the elite of our military who have trained for these missions over many years.
Letter: No Dutch ovens
I regret I’ll not be able to bring dutch oven desserts to accompany the Rangely Museum Society’s Ice Cream Social this Sunday afternoon, Sept. 4. Last year I was joined by Bill & Mike Zadra and we had a great time sharing our dutch oven creations.
Letter to the Editor: Merchants say thanks
Dear Editor: The Rangely Merchants softball team would like to thank the following sponsors for their support of our entry fee to the Meeker co-ed softball league.
Letter to the Editor: New blood needed on Meeker school board
Dear Editor: It has come to my attention that we have school board members coming up for reelection.
Letter to the Editor: Hen house attracts clever foxes
Dear Editor: An engineering firm and common sense has determined our new Meeker elementary school to be “unsafe” for our children and teachers. The taxpayer now has an $18,000,000 white elephant.
Letter to the Editor: A privilege to call this area “home”
Dear Editor: Thanks so very much to those involved this past week who helped, perhaps even putting your own lives, schedules and careers in jeopardy, to eliminate a very serious potential hazard that had to be dealt with.
Letter to the Editor: Giving away our great outdoors
Dear Editor: U.S. Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has proposed legislation that opens tens of millions of acres of pristine lands to corporate polluters.
Letter to the Editor: Apology from Neenan
Dear Editor: I am deeply disappointed and concerned about the structural engineering issues at Meeker Elementary School. I personally apologize to the Meeker community, students and parents for putting you in this position.
Letter to the Editor: A rainbow after the storm
Dear Editor: My wife, Toni, just began working for the Meeker Elementary School.
