MEEKER — The weather finally allowed hosting schools to put on a track meet last Saturday and the Meeker track teams traveled to Rangely to take part in the Panther Invitational.
The medley relay team of Marki Cook, Timbre Shriver, Janae Kindall and Sydney Cook started the scoring for the Cowboys with a fourth place finish and a respectable time.
Pat Love, Terrence Casias, Seth Boesch and Sam Love placed fourth in the 3,200-meter relay.
Brock Campell, Pat Love, Terrence Casias and Jake Nieslanik took a sixth place finish in the 800-meter relay.
Marki Cook ran a 13.00 in the 100-meter dash to place fourth in a field of large schools. She also anchored the 400-meter relay team of Kelsey Rundberg, Timbre Shriver and Janae Kindall to a fourth place finish.
Kelsey Rundberg and Sydney Cook both placed sixth and eighth respectively in the 400-meter run.
The 1,600-meter relay of Terrence Casias, Sam Love, Cameron Stranathan and Brock Campbell ran a 3:57 to place sixth.
In the field events, triple jumpers Meg Nieslanik placed third with a hop, skip and jump of 31-3 1/2 and teammate Janae Kindall was 2 inches behind for fourth place.
Nieslanik and Sydney Cook each tied for eighth place in the high jump. Dakota Rowlett and Joseph Galvan placed seventh and eighth also in the high jump.
