Elks plan ‘Youth Week’

RANGELY — The benevolent and protective order of the Elks has designated the first week in May as Youth Week to honor America’s junior citizens for their accomplishments. The Elks have partnered with the Western Rio Blanco Recreation Center and the Town of Rangely to honor our local youth.
Among the activities scheduled during Youth Week are:
n Sunday, May 4 the Elks offer free swimming at the recreation center: 12-2 p.m. for 2-12 years and 2-4 p.m. for 12-19 years.
n Monday, May 5 the Young Artist award will be presented.
n Tuesday, May 6 the Special Olympics award will be presented at White River Drive-In at 6 p.m.
n Wednesday, May 7 at the Bronco Cafeteria at CNCC at 6 p.m. the College Reads Program tutors.
n Thursday, May 8 4-H Trees at the 4-H pens at 6 p.m. The Waving Hands award will be presented at the White River Drive-In at 6 p.m.
n Friday, May 9 planting of 4-H trees at the 4-H pens at 6 p.m.
n Saturday, May 10 there will be a youth barbecue at Elks Park at 12 p.m. This event is free to all youth.
