RANGELY I The Rangely School District announced Friday that Friday, May 15 will be a full day of school for all students and that May 21 will be the last day of school for all students.
“After input from our parents and staff, we will be adding Friday, May 15 to our calendar as a full regular school day, which, in turn, will allow us to make Thursday, May 21 our last day of school,” a district press release stated.
“Our calendar has two days built in for school closings due to snow that we have not needed this year,” the release stated. “By adding Friday, May 15 to the schedule we can close the school year out a little and still meet the needs of the students and be within the state requirements for attendance.
“Along with the support of the school board, we had 167 responses to a survey that was emailed to parents (if we had an email address), and staff members with 93.98 percent in favor of ending the school year early by using the two snow days and adding a Friday,” the release stated.
