RANGELY — Due in large part to the impacts of growth in our area, the Rangely Chamber of Commerce board is going to become more active with other government entities to increase its voice in policies being crafted that affect our economy and lifestyles.
First and foremost will be assuring our area receives every penny we are due from mineral severance taxes and other impact mitigation funding and secondly, that energy development in the region is allowed to proceed on schedule, since that effects the largest to the smallest businesses in town.
By increasing its presence and working more closely with the county commissioners, state officials and the likes of Club 20, the board can better safeguard our business base and help attract new business in town. Stronger communication outreach to chamber member businesses will also be instituted to insure that their concerns are being met and the businesses in turn should more actively participate in board meetings and information presented through the board.
The chamber will continue to hold fundraisers throughout the year and many fun activities will be associated with them. The preliminary schedule for Septemberfest was released to the board by Tim Webber and possible further additions were discussed.
