RANGELY I The Rangely Hurricanes swim team finished its season by competing at the annual Colorado Seasonal Club State Championships in Cortez, a meet the team has won for the past six years.
This year, the Hurricanes finished the championships with a second place finish behind the performances of Caleb Noel, James Scoggins, Patrick Scoggins, Colton Noel, Mary Scoggins and Timothy Scoggins.
Each of these swimmers had to reach a minimum time standard to participate in the meet that brought the best of the best from Colorado’s seasonal club teams.
Patrick Scoggins led the way for the Hurricanes with six first-place finishes, three second-place finishes and two new state records.
Caleb Noel finished 15th in the 100 Free and 16th in the 200 Free.
James Scoggins finished fifth in the 50 Free.
Mary Scoggins finished eighth in the 50 Free, 15th in the 100 Free, 14th in the 200 Free, 17th in the 50 Back, 16th in the 100 Back and 16th in the 50 Fly.
Colton Noel finished 10th in the 50 Breast and eighth in the 100 Breast.
Timothy Scoggins finished 10th in the 50 Back, fifth in the 100 Back, and 11th in the 50 Breast.
