Bucks are back…
The bucks seem to know when the season on antlers is over. Above, these three nice bucks know its safe for them to wander the streets of Rangely such as these on Stanolind Ave., while the buck below was seen just outside of Meeker on Saturday along Highway 13.
Second bull…
Tanner Ridgeway, 13, of Meeker harvested this bull on Nov. 7 at Wilson Creek, while hunting with his father DJ Ridgeway and his uncles Jason and Danny. This is the second year that Tanner has been hunting for elk and this is Tanner’s second bull.
Good outlook for waterfowl hunt

Meeker man loses appeal on conviction for poaching
MEEKER I Convicted poacher and former outfitter Dennis Eugene Rodebaugh, 73, of Meeker, Colo., learned Aug. 25 that his appeal to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has failed, affirming the 41-month prison sentence and fines he received in early 2013 for illegally baiting deer and elk with salt.
