MEEKER | The 2018 Ladies Deerfly tournament hosted by the Meeker Golf Course ended with a three-way tie in the A Flight after 18 holes. The three teams, scoring a par of 70, decided a hole-by-hole sudden death round was necessary to determine the winner. The tournament concluded with the duo of Amanda Back of Meeker, Colo., and Leslie Ruben of Texas winning after six holes of play over Patty Edwards of Meeker and Ellen Boudreaux of Rangely, Colo., who won the longest drive in A-flight, and who took second gross. Candy Hammerich and Jacey Hauer of Rifle, Colo., were eliminated on the first hole of sudden death and took home first net. With a par of 60 after the handicap Deb Erickson and Ann Gilmer of Glenwood Springs, Colo., were awarded second net, wrapping up the awards for first flight.
In the B Flight, first gross, with a par of 80, went to Aly Ridings and Christy Atwood of Meeker, who just outshot the second gross pair of Pat Sanson and Peggy Back of Meeker by four strokes. Jill Massey and Danielle Feola of Meeker shot 58 after their handicap and took home first net over the Glenwood Springs pair of Michelle David and Lisa Williams who took home second net. Longest drive for the B Flight went to Sally Lou Schultz of Meeker
The next tournament is the men’s 2-Man Best Ball Tournament on June 16 and 17.
