n Meeker Sand & Gravel is sponsoring Family Night Out at the Meeker Rec. Center. On Sunday, Oct. 26, from 6:30-8 p.m. the first 75 people of any age visiting the MRC will be admitted for free. All fitness room and pool amenities will be available.

Commissioners implement stiffer traffic fine schedule
RBC — Drivers beware, if you are ticketed for a traffic violation in Rio Blanco County, it’s going to cost more now. Following the state’s lead, county commissioners approved a new traffic fine schedule Oct. 13.

I heard from a couple of women, both are in important positions, who chided me about being omitted from the list of names I mentioned in last week’s column about the prominent role women play in Rio Blanco County politics.

Willeys are ‘home of’ honorees this week
MEEKER — Ron and Beth Willey of Meeker are this week’s “home of” honorees. Ron is a 28-year Meeker resident. Beth has lived here 12 years. They celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary Aug. 17.
Parent-teacher conferences slated
