Rangely school district celebrates successful year

The Rangely School District was proud to announce another successful school year in which academic success was impressive as demonstrated by federal recognition, state standardized assessments scores and most importantly, the daily learning activities in the classrooms.

Local author Lou Dean, along with donkey Jesse James and dogs Keeper and Lucky, was photographed at her Blue Mountain home last week for a story that will appear in a special Guideposts Christmas publication this December.

First, of all for those who have not noticed we have placed a statue of a “Service Person” representing all branches of our Armed Forces on the East front corner of our land at Silver Sage RV Park on Main Street in Rangely.

Joan Brumback June 23, 1930 ~ March 17, 2012 A graveside memorial service for Joan Brumback will be held at Highland Cemetery in Meeker, Colo., on Saturday, June 2 at 11 a.m., her son, Kent Brumback, officiating.

RBC selling herbicide

The Rio Blanco County Weed Department will be selling herbicide on Thursday mornings 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Meeker Fairgrounds and at the Road and Bridge Building in Rangely after 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

The U.S. Defense Department believes China will soon have anti-ship missiles with a range of 1,000 miles, B-6 bombers armed with long range cruise missiles, aircraft carriers, 75 surface navy ships, 60 submarines and missile boats.
