MEEKER | On Saturday, Sept. 2, Meeker seventh grade volleyball A and B teams defeated Rangely. The Meeker B team won the first set 25-11 and the second 25-16. In the first set Althea Halstead (39) served 10 times in a row which led to the first set win. In the second set she once again served the most and gained the most points for the team.
For the A team games, Braelyn Pena (56) and Iris Gianinetti (17) scored the most points in the first set. The final score for that set was 25-14. In the second set Avari Caulfield served for 10 points, the majority of which were aces. McKenna Berthelson had the most assists. The final score for the second set was 25-8.
“They are such a positive, encouraging and hardworking group of girls. It’s amazing in just two weeks the improvement they have made,” said coach Molly Turner.
In Hayden last week, the seventh grade A team won 25-10 and 25-22. The B team won against East Grand 25-16 and 25-15, and the A team won 25-22 and 25-21.
