BMS volleyball wraps successful season

MEEKER | The Barone Middle School volleyball teams had a phenomenal last weekend, according to Coach Jordan Brown. On Friday the seventh and eighth grade B teams traveled to Craig and both teams won their divisions. The eighth grade B team played three hard games against Sleeping Giant, but pulled through with a 16-14 victory.

On Saturday, the seventh and eighth grade A teams hosted the final tournament which included teams from Hayden, Craig, West Grand, East Grand, North Park, Steamboat, Sleeping Giant, Rangely and Soroco. The eighth grade came back with vengeance against Rangely and won in two quick games, however lost against East Grand. East Grand had great servers and attackers.

“They played their hearts out, and fought for each point, and even with the loss, I couldn’t be more proud of how hard they played,” Brown said.

The seventh grade A team won the tournament for their division, they played North Park and West Grand and handled each team easily in two games.

“Coach Molly and I are so proud of the girls this season, they are a respectful, kind and hard working group of girls and we thoroughly enjoyed coaching them. We would like to thank Coach Deb Cook and Coach Kirstie Strate for helping out this season, they were both there for every practice and game, and helped the girls tremendously this season,” Brown added.
