n The Hugus company commenced the erection of another commodious warehouse this week. Clarence Ford is the master mechanic in charge of the work.
n A wireless telephone now being tested is said to be a success. A wireless campaign, however, is more than one can hope for.
n Meeker’s theater-going people had the unusual opportunity of seeing a first-class play every night this week at Odd Fellows’ hall. The McCoy-Harrington company gave us comedy and tragedy (no two nights the same) and large and appreciative audiences greeted them.
n The White steamer is again in commission between Meeker and Rifle, with Law Cure at the throttle.

n The County Commission-ers closed a deal to buy 25 acres for the development of the “new, modern airport” for Meeker.
n Playing high school basketball for the Meeker Cowboys in the 1958-59 season: Bill Jordan, Lowell Klinglesmith, George Sutton, Eldon Leff, Larry Shults, Bill Dunham, Lonnie Shults, Fred Oglesby and Chris Halandras.
n This year’s license plates will carry an alphabetical county designation rather than the numerical designation to which we are accustomed. Rio Blanco County has been assigned YV and YW 0001 through 9999.

n Wildlife officers reported that poaching was on the rise, possibly related to the beef shortage.
n Michelle Collins celebrated her second birthday at the home of her grandparents, June and Warren Fifield.

n Rangely’s 1973 homecoming queen was Pam Powell. Susie Hillis and Peggy Hanson were her senior attendants. The girls were escorted by Pat Harris, Roger Hefley and Ronnie Rasmussen.
