Travis Mobley announces candidacy for Rio Blanco County Sheriff in 2026

PRESS RELEASE

RBC | Travis Mobley is officially announcing his candidacy for Rio Blanco County Sheriff in the 2026 election, bringing with him nearly three decades of dedicated service, deep community roots, and a commitment to faith, family, and the people of Rio Blanco County.

Travis grew up in Meeker, Colorado, attending Meeker High School and continuing his education at CNCC in Rangely, Colorado, where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree before he started a family and joined the work force full time.

Travis began his career with the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office in 1996, starting part-time in the jail before moving to full-time service. In 2004, after graduating from the law enforcement academy, he transitioned to patrol, where he proudly served the citizens of Rio Blanco County on the road. His dedication and leadership have guided him through the years, and since March 2022, he has served as Undersheriff, a role in which he continues to exemplify integrity and accountability.

A true son of Rio Blanco County, Travis and his family have local roots that span generations throughout the entire county. To him, Rio Blanco County isn’t just home, it’s family. He understands the strength, resilience, and heart that define this community, and he has spent his career protecting those values.

Beyond the badge, Travis is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife, Mandy, have raised their four children in Meeker, Colorado — Dylan, Alicia, Regan, and Jace — with the same values that guide his service: faith, hard work, and respect for others. Travis believes that faith, family, and community form the foundation of a strong and safe Rio Blanco County.

As a candidate for sheriff, Travis stands committed to protecting the constitutional rights of every citizen, ensuring public safety, and leading with transparency, courage, and compassion. His goal is to strengthen trust between law enforcement and the community. Travis wants to be a sheriff who listens and leads by example.

“Rio Blanco County has given so much to my family and I.” Travis shared. “It’s my honor to give back by protecting the people, values, and way of life that make this such a special place to call home.”
