Cowboy duffers to play in Craig, Steamboat

The Rifle Creek Golf Course and the Rifle Bears played host to the latest golf tournament for the Cowboys. The varsity only tournament featured Phil Arnold and Nick Massey who tied for 23rd with scores of 92. Peter Hanks also tied with another opponent for the 31st slot with a score of 97. Elijah Deming placed 42nd with a score of 103 and the fifth Cowboy this tournament was Zagar Brown. Arnold, Massey and Hanks placed the Cowboys in seventh out of 11 teams. In the league rankings the team currently sits in sixth place in the Western Slope with a score of 65.472, just behind Delta.
The Cowboy golf team has five out of our eight players who are seniors and the other three are sophomores. “The seniors are doing a great job leading the team,” said head coach Willy Theos.
The entire team will play in Craig on Wednesday and then varsity only on Thursday in Steamboat at Haymaker Golf Course.
